Blue Cross were great for me here in California with the prudent buyer plan
approved first try in less than a week.
But I did have over a $2000.00 co-pay with the surgeons office.

My husband has BCBS HMO Blue and it states in the exclusions that service
and supplies where not covered. So check the exclusions.

I have blueshield through my job. They turned me down flat because of a
clause that says they don't pay for any medical procedures that are
'obesity related'

I have bc/bs federal. No problems at all! They paid all but $100.00 of the
hospital and I had to pay the surgeon $1100.00. I paid more for my root
canal LOL! Good Luck

Hi, I have Blue Cross/Blue Shield BlueChoice in Missouri and was denied
twice due to exclusion. I contacted Walter Lindstrom about appealing but
he didn't think I would have much of a case, so I ended up self-paying.

I have Aetna and would reccomend them if you have a choice. They approved
me in less than 24 hours. They are well known for their speedy approvals.
My starting BMI was only 35.7 with sleep apnea being my only co-morbid. I
only had 2 Dr supervised weight loss attempts (they were only 1 month
each!!) It was so easy!!! If I can get approved, anyone can!! Good
luck!!
