Question:
2 questions 1)If
2) I am going to have surgery on 12/12, I am a teacher and will only miss 7 days of school, then I'll be on Christmas break ( 2 weeks). How are the holidays post op as far as how you feel? ( I am not talking about missing holiday foods) as far as shopping, wrapping gifts, going to programs etc. I would like to hear from post op folks who had their surgery around Christmas/ or before. Thanks — Cindee A. (posted on October 29, 2001)

I think you will be tired because it is major surgery. I walked a lot
after my surgery ... just don't lift anything heavy. Good luck!

Cindee, my date is Dec. 10. I'm planning to get my shopping and wrapping
done before surgery. My husband and I are doing a massive one day shopping
trip and my mom promised me help with wrapping them. I am not so much
worried that I'll be too tired to do it postop, but I'm worried that if,
God forbid, I have any complications that ground me for longer than
expected, it will ruin my children's Christmas. Of course thats not my only
worry, but with 3 kids who all still believe in Santa, its a very big deal.
Good Luck!

I dont know about the Holiday shopping,,,but driving.....I had an open rny
less than 2 weeks ago and have been driving since 1 week out of surgery. I
know they told me in the hospital not to drive for 4-6 weeks, but reality
is I have 4 children and life is really busy for me. there is no way I
could have waited a month or so, and to be honest, I felt fine. My only
problem is wearing a bra...OUCH!!!!!!!!!!! Good Luck
