Question:
Does OHIP cover gastric banding in Canada?

I just came home from my family doctor's, who informed me that a gastric banding operation will cost me $4000. I live in Ontario, and was told beforehand that OHIP covered this operation. Could somebody please help?    — Marianne S. (posted on October 26, 2001)
