Question:
What do you recommend and where do I find them?

I am 7 years post RNY and want to change my vitamin intake.    — Menamarie (posted on January 17, 2010)

Weight Loss Surgery Vitamins; developed by bariatric surgeon. He has an entire line. Go to www.wlsvitamins.com. I'm very happy with this line.

I take Bariatric Advantage - the manufaturer will ship you a three months' supply automatically, and charge your credit card, and will forego the shipping charges if you allow him to do this. And they're REALLY resonable, price-wise. This is a multi that I take morning an evening. I buy TwinLab Calcium Cirtrate Chewables from GNC or the Vitamin Shoppe or Vitamin Cottage - and I take two of them 3 times per day. I do the rest of my vitamins at the vitamin shop for the most part - my B-12, Folate, B Complex, Vitamin D, and Vitamin K. There VERY reasonable, and the pills are Very small so you don't have to worry about the becoming lodged in your stoma. There are other brands of Bariatric Vitamins out there.... for instance, Bariatric Fusion, but they want you to take 4 tablet a day, and I have trouble just remembering 2. And then there is the Celebrate brand, that I've seen on the Bariatric Eating website. I know there are others, but these have worked best for me.

I love the bariatric advantage line - they are chewables and it tastes like you're eating candy when you take them - makes it so much more enjoyable - I use the chewable multi- vitamin as well as Iron and B-12 and now the chewable probiotics.. They have an autofill program - which you get free shipping if you sign up for that - This is awesome as you don't have to keep track of "do I need vitamins" They know - BUT BEWARE - They do just slam charge your card - no warning - so if you do autofill - don't use a credit/debit card that you can't have charged without notice.

I use Optisource vitamins. You take 4 of them a day and don't have to take all the other supplements. I forget to take pills easily, so the simplicity and ease of taking these makes it well worth the $30 a month it costs for them. They are recommended by my wl clinic. You can get them at Walgreen Pharmacy (or at their on-line site).
