Question:
Any good tasting protein drinks that do not use artificial sweeteners?
I can't or won't use artificial sweetenters. Any suggestions? Can I use whey powder in skim milk or skim chocolate milk? I'm desperate for ideas. — Katey (posted on January 3, 2010)

You can use the whey in milk. I would use plain skim milk but you can also
use chocolate milk if you can tolerate it with the sugars. Personally I
can tolerate it but use it for the occasional treat because basically it
has a bunch of empty calories. I use the Whey Factors unflavored protein
powder, which says it contains no artificial preservatives, color or
sweeteners, no wheat or yeast and no added sugar. Don't know about the
flavored whey factorsd. I know since you wont use artificial sweeteners,
you won't do this, but I make the sf carnation instant breakfast with skim
mild and a scoop of whey factors. all together it is 30 grams of protein(9
for a cup of milk, 16 for the protein powder and 5 for the CIB.) Helps me
get my protein in and it is something that I like the taste of.

Go to your local health store (GNC or something)...look for protein drinks
that are high in protein with very minimal carbs. I use to have a favorite
and I can't think of the name of it!

I recently purchased Unjury and Chike.....both are awesome. The banana
flavor with Chike was the best......
good luck

At the Vitamin shoppe, Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Natural Vanilla.
You can add lots of things to add a flavor variance. Also Jay Robb
Enterprises, Whey Vanilla Isolate, expensive but good. I have tried them
both and like them. There are other flavors too, but I buy in bulk and just
add my own flavor. I also use Vitamin Shoppe Soy Protein 100% (unflavored)
to add to soup. It is actually quite delicious. I avoid artificial
sweeteners and use stevia instead, it is natural.

I have been using a product by "Peaceful Planet". It is soy based
protien & also has real vegetable powders in it, so there is some
actual food in it, not a bunch of fake stuff. It's tasty, compared to most.
I got it at Natural Grocer's, in Colorado. It's probably at Wholefoods,
though I haven't checked yet. - I'm scared to go in that place, so far :).
It is not as sweet as most of these drinks are proving to be. I am not a
sweet tooth person. I am thrilled to read here of the "Unjary"
brand's chicken soup mix, is it really savory & not sweet?
