Question:
major problems 7 years out
I was wondering if there is anyone out there with the similar problems I have? I had my surgery in Jan 2003, was sent home on a pic line because I could not keep anything down, over the years I have been in & out of the hospital about 10 times, where no one can find a problem, In June of 2008 I had a double hernia due to the gastric bypass it was fixed lap. & my surgeon also said he followed my bowel all the way down & repaired holes. Yeah I thought I am cured. Wrong, In Aug of 2009 I was in the hospital for a week had every test run on me possible, the found out that the stomach that was by passed and not in use any more is filled with air & liquid. When I tell you I can't eat I can't eat! I live on yogurt ensure & pain meds because of the amount of pain I am in, So now I am going to NYC Cornelle NYP & seeing a Dr. Dakin he is running a battery of tests on me, CT scan w/ contrast, upper GI of small bowel, endoscopy, MRI, etc. I started out at 330 and am now 125 I look like skin & bones, I was wondering if anyone else has has similar problems, & what was your diagnosis & what they did to help you I am sure I have left out a million things this has been a nightmare but I don't regret it, I get that from everyone, but until someone is 330lbs they don't know how hard life is, even as difficult ans painful as it is I would not go back there has to be answers and I look forward to hearing from you all, because we are all in this together, so have been lucky and led normal lives & hats off to you & I am sure there have been people who have not been as lucky as me and maybe you can help me. what kind of life is it to live on meds. Thank you for taking your time to read my story — yorkiesetc2270 (posted on October 20, 2009)

I have not experienced this type of physical pain, but I have experienced
espophegeal pain, problems with swallowing, not being able to eat anything,
and (unrelated to my surgery) severe clinical depression. I simply did not
give up. I went to doctors, surgeon, psychiatrists, psychologist, pastors,
etc. to find help with each problem as it presented itself. Find your
strength in God, and turn to him with your cares. He is the GREAT
PHYSICIAN and we are His beloved. When you are in pain, saturate yourself
in praise and worship music. Nothing lifts my spirits more than remember
how Great God is or how grateful I am for all of the blessings He has given
me. I'll add you to my prayer list. Let me know how you are doing from
time to time. God Bless.
