Nat, are you taking Vit C with your iron?? Vitamin C helps us to absorb
iron better. Low levels of C can cause the following: Vitamin C
Deficiency
Not eating enough fresh fruits and vegetables can cause the deficiency.
People feel tired, weak, and irritable.
Severe deficiency, called scurvy, causes bruising, gum and dental problems,
dry hair and skin, and anemia.
The diagnosis is based on symptoms and sometimes blood tests.
Increasing consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables or taking supplements
by mouth usually corrects the deficiency.
Hope this helps.

YES!! I am bruising A LOT. I get these little tiny bruises, about the
size of a pencil eraser, mostly on the inside upper quarter of my thighs,
and they stay for a long time. I've also begun getting those "old
people" type bruises (the cherry-red ones, usually on the forearms)
near my watch and my "BodyBugg" that I wear on my upper arm. I
also seem to end up with larger bruises that I don't remember getting, and
some in places that would be very hard to bruise at all. Additionally,
seems that the skin on my forearms has suddenly become very thin, and I've
done nothing more than bump or scrape it a couple of times and the skin has
actually torn and the blood seems to be very thin. But I've had a CBC, and
a PT and PTT, all of which are tests to measure the health and clotting
time of your blood, and they've all come back just fine. I'm also not
anemic that they can see. I'm taking Bariatric Advantage Multivitamins for
the Bypass patient twice a day, 1500 mg of Vitamin C (500mg 3x per day),
Vitamin K, Biotin, B-12, 2,000 mg of Vitamin D... not on any iron because
supposedly I'm not anemic. I wish I knew what was causing it. If you find
out, or someone comes up with a good theory, I'd sure like to hear it!

I get the same type of "bruising" on the forearm as well. All of
my blood work continues to come back good, also. I spoke to my family
doctor about it. He seems to think it is caused by my skin being sun
damaged over time and now it is thin...which allows for it to easily
bruised (sometimes to the point where blood is drawn). If anyone else has
any additional info or doctor feedback on this, I would love to hear it as
well.
