Braunsweiger is very high in fat, if I remember the label well enough. You
will have to adjust the portion size so tha you aren't taking in any more
fat/serving that your doc recommends. But a teaspoon of yummy is better
than none, I guess. Maybe look into "making your own"? Like cook
up one slice of liver (don't forget to check fat g here, too) and puree it
with spices and stuff? I don't know if that would reduce the fat content or
not. Check it out.

Braunsweiger is a smoked pork liver sausage.
I'd say try a small portion, maybe 1 oz. and see how you tolerate it. You
won't know till you try.

When in doubt, ask your nutritionist, or at least someone at your doctor's
office.
Braunschweiger is high in fat, so stick to a very small portion and by the
way, chew, chew, chew. When I was 3 weeks post op I had just started on
soft solids, so if it fit through a sieve, or strainer, I could eat it.
Braunschweiger is a bit solid, I would think.
I dump on high fat foods, but everyone is different. You probably won't be
able to eat enough right now to have that problem. Just take it easy.
You'll have plenty of opportunity to eat your favorite foods down the road.

I would recoginze that special with post op, nothing more then liquid.
Believe me in what I saying. eating anything heavy at time of post op is
really heavy on the stomach and it may hurt. I would check with your
physical or health nutritional and see what he or she say.

I had lap band on 8/20/2009 and am in the Mushie stage. I would think
braunswager would be mushie. But agree it is high in fat, probably not the
best choice but I don't think it will hurt if you are in the mushie phase.
