Question:
Are there any RNY patients in the 60+ age range? Are there additional problems?

I'll be 64 in August. Sorry I waited so long. I had 8 co-morbidity
diseases and now have one! I took 18 meds a day and now take 2! No
complications! Follow rules -- which is hard for me to do, but I keep
trying. Old thinking keeps crawling back. I must always be alert.

I was 59 and wish I had done it years ago. Went from 11 meds to 2 and feel
great.
No extra problems for me.

I was 59 when I had my surgery and can truly say when I turned 60 I felt
better, looked better, and had more energy & vitality than I did for
the majority of my younger years. I am so dissapointed I did not do it
earlier. Like all the others, I had so many illnesses and took so many
pills prior to WLS. I am totally free from every one of them except
Hypothyroidism, which I will have, no matter how much I weigh. I feel
blessed as I have had not addtional problems. Good luck!

Hi, I am 62 and am 3 months out from surg. I've lost 53 lbs. and feel
wonderful. My job is a lot of on my feet and walking, so my knees and feet
are thanking me. Like everyone else in our age group, I wish I had done
this earlier, but really, this was my heaviest weight, so really didn't
think of it before this. Have a great journey!
