Stevia is natural and derived from a plant and just got approved by the FDA
this DEc 08 to use as a sweetener. Before then it was just allowed to be
used as a "dietary supplement" (I've been using it as a sweetener
for over a year) I even grow the Stevia plant in my herb garden and use
the leaves for teas, skin remedies as it has other than sweet benefits!
Stevia DOES have some minimal nutrition as opposed to sugar and sugar
substitutes and has anti-cavity qualities...Here is a no fuss
"safe" opinion from the Mayo Clinic on Stevia...If you read more
about the history and uses of Stevia eleswhere, it is quite exiting in my
opinion! I am a HUGE fan and use it daily. I love it!

I use a product that is stevia and pure cane sugar mix and only has 5
calories per pack. It taste great in my tea. It's called sun crystals and I
got it at WalMart.

I absolutely LOVE IT! It is one of the best discoveries I have made since
my weight loss/life transition. I was a sweet fiend before and I thought
that the sweettooth part my life was over but I did lots of research and
found we have so many choices for sweetening. The variety is endless.
Stevia, Xylitol and Agave nectar are my favorites. And believe it or not
some of the sweeteners have nutritional qualities. Experiment and enjoy the
tasty ride..
The one thing I know for sure is refined high calorie sugars will never see
me again.
