is it always necasary to have ekg chest exray and blood work done at the hospital does this mean i am aproved or do they want more testing — amber34482 (posted on January 27, 2009)

I had to have those tests as pre-op procedures, but that was simultaneous
with my surgery. Do you have an actual surgery date? It sounds to me as
though you're approved. Don't be afraid to ask any health professional or
business office worker questions. You are the consumer. You are the one
going under the knife. You are the one paying the bills. Ask questions.
Get answers. To me it sounds as though you are either approved or
extremely close to being so.

Yes these tests are most definitely necessary and it does sound like you
are approved. Ask for your surgery date; if they won't give you one then I
would suggest getting a second opinion. Good Luck and God Bless,

I had all my testing done before the office submited them for approval.
Having these done in advance does not mean you have been approved. You need
to ask your doctor's office for this information. They are the ones that
can best answer your questions. Do not assume anything and always ask them
when in doubt. Good luck.

well i do know that these are required test. Also, i am a surgery nurse and
the labwork needs to be done no longer then a week preop the EKG can be
done up to 6 months preop. So I would rec. calling your surgeons office.
There is no need to have the labwork done twice. Looks like you are on your
way to the losing side!! I can't wait to get my date. Best of luck and let
us know how things go! blessings and hugs, cora
