My first week out i lost nothing but i am now 10 months out and lost over
120lbs. So just be patient and stick to the rules and you WILL lose. Even
now i feel like i should have lost more than what i have but with out my
tool i would have never lost this much weight on my own. So good luck and
welcome to the losers bench!

Hi hun, I went through the same doubts as you; wondering if the surgery
"wasn't working"..... Your weight loss will, at times, speed up,
and at times, slow down, and sometimes it will stop altogether for a week
or 2 or 3, then start back up again, so do not worry. What to look forward
to is the *end result* and that will be a significant weight loss!! Just
think of how much you'll have lost after 6 months, or better yet, by your 1
year surgery anniversary!!! I am 6 months out, and have lost 82 pounds so
far!! You'll lose weight for about a year or more, so you and I both have
much more weight to lose by then! Try not to weigh yourself daily; pick the
scale up and keep it in the closet so you won't walk past it. Weigh
yourself once a week only, because our weight naturally goes up and down a
little day to day and that can be misleading! Stay with your purees and
make sure you understand exactly which foods you're allowed to eat at 2
weeks out; your nutritionist and surgeon should give you written
instructions. For life/forever, avoid carbs and sugars and stick with
proteins and veggies. Make proteins and veggies your primary food. If you
are constipated, you should call your surgeon's office and speak to him or
his Nurse, they will probably tell you to take Colace, which is a stool
softener (not a laxative!), however you really should call and ask them
what to do about the constipation, don't wait until your next appointment.
Please believe me, I also wrote a question here, back when I first had my
surgery, saying I was worried it wasn't working; well, as I said, I've lost
over 80 pounds (so far!) and so will you, just stick with the rules of what
to eat, the different food stages, plenty of water, vitamins, protein, and
keep coming back here to this website; everyone here can help you and
encourage you!

Hey there ! I have surgery on Tuesday this week. Aug 26th so I dont have
much experience but from what I have read and told on the forum. The first
week you are very swollen so dont expect too much. I totally understand and
sympathize. I know I would be very discouraged but you are doing great. You
have to give your body time to get used to the trauma it went through. Also
chance are ( I am guessing) but you probably had a significant weight loss
from your pre op diet too so your body is like"WOW"! what is
going on here? Dont be hard on yourself. Its working, stay confident and
dont give up girl
