It is the whole meal. Less than 15 grams of sugar is a lot of sugar. I
have been told less than 7 grams and lowfat. I know that the yogurt that
is lowfat is loaded with sugar and you have to watch the labels. You need
the ones made with splenda and no sugar added.
You can go back to work, when you are no longer taken pain medication and
that varies with each individuals. Some people can go back to work within
a week others two weeks.Depends on the occupation and your doctor.

A lot depends on your age, as the people that had surgery on Wednesday with
me when home on THursday and to work the following Monday. I was in the
hospital until Sunday and took the entire next week off work. Since you
are not liftin, and you are a School Bus Driver, I would suggest you have
the surgery in the Summer when you are off and that way you will miss no
work and be ready t deal wityh the kids on the first day of school. My
suger requirement are per meal, but I had a RNY so myine are much lower and
only natural sugars in fruts and veggies. Best of success to you.

Hi Ray, thanks for writing. Diet and weight loss can be quite a science.
Reading packaging and taking an interest in what you are eating is very
important for a lot of reasons. It is tough to get started to take an
interest, but start small and work your way up. I would really encourage
you to buy a learning book on nutrition, diet and exercise. Your body is
worth being healthy, why not spend a little time in investigation and
research as to how to help it get and stay healthy? There are tons of
books you can find on line or in book stores that can help you out. Take
care. Patricia P. PS asking questions here is good too, don't get me
wrong, I just think that building our knowledge on what we are doing is
also important and good. Take care.

I was told not to go over 14 grams of sugar per meal and even that
sometimes is cutting to close. Keep an eye on those lables especially
yogart. I eat the lite and lively by Dannon I found that this one is the
lowest I've ever seen. As for me I was out of work 6 weeks. I have an
office job. Thank God it was that long. I had alot of health issues not
with the surgery but just me. I have fibromyalgia, arthritas, had high
blood pressure. I felt very very tired. Once I began losing weight I was
feeling more energy. It took a total of about 8 weeks before I felt like I
had alot of energy. I couldn't waite to get home from work just to lie
down for about half hour. Each person is different. A friend of mine who
had it done was walking about a mile a day or two after surgery. Just do
as they tell you and you will do great. Best of luck

Everyone is different but I had Lab Band surgery done on as out patient. I
had it Wed morning was home Wed afternoon and was out shopping on Sunday
and back to work on Monday. Just don't try to left anything too heavy for
a week or 2. With lapband you do not have to worry about dumping as with
gastric BUT you do want to watch your sugar and carb intake. I will tell
you after surgery you will not be able to eat bread, rolls, bagels, etc..
for a long time. In the beginning you don't need to worry about the sugar
either because all you will be able to eat is the protein. Make sure you
always eat your protein first and never more than 2 - 3 oz at a time. If
you have other questions please feel free to email me. My husband had the
surgery too he also only took 2 days off from work. Good Luck with your
decision, you will be happy you did it.
