I went to your profile and it did not say that you had a RNY or Lap Band.
I can tell you with a RNY, you have a tool and you have to use it to carve
out the results that you want. If you do not follow the rules, your
results can be slower. Not all of us lose the same rate or wa. I seem to
stall in weight lose for two weeks at a time, despite the fact that I go to
the Gym 6 days a week and work out for 1-1/2 hours every day. I watch my
diet and never drink with meals but I see others that lose faster than me
that don't have to work at it like I do. Just get focused on the rules
again, talk to your doctor and see where he thinks you need improvement.
Show him your food and excersize logs for the past few weeks and he will
tell you have to improve your loss. Don't be discourged, but take this as
a challenge to improve. I have to stop every month and focus on where I
could have done better. We all slip, but the goal is to get to that great
weight loss we have not seen in a long time and look great again. Best of
Luck.

Not sure what procedure you had done. Everyone loses at a different pace.
Just like a finger print, not everyone loses the same or has the same
"side effects" from surgery (for example - some people never lose
their appetite, so people are do not have a high sensitivity to sugar and
fat, etc.). I would say you are doing great (my opinion). My results were
drastic and I wouldn't use me as any sort of indicator. I lost most of my
weight in the first 3-4 months. I started at 286 and to date I am 152.
Started in a size 26-28, currently wearing a size 8 or 6 or 10 depending o
n the style and cut of the clothes. I am 5'8", 35 (at surgery, now 36)
and lead a pretty active lifestyle. I do cardio kickboxing, all abs and
yogaliates - during the week and take the weekends off from crazy exercise
(first 6 months). I got to goal and kept losing and stopped all cardio and
now only walk briskly a few times a week - nothing to cardio intense and do
strength training. I struggle with my weight in the opposite direction now.
If you think you want to lose more and want to lose more, I would go back
to basics and mix up your exercise routine. When I say go back to basics, I
mean the beginning phases after surgery. Put yourself back into ketosis and
start burning more fat - go back to liquids for a week, gradually work
yourself back up to eating food again. And your exercise routine - mix it
up. I know I would plateau and it was all exercise for me. I got
comfortable with what I was doing, and didn't push myself. So...I would say
mix it up and see what happens.

Like the others have said, everyone is different and it also depends on
what procedure you had done. I have heard with the lapband it takes a lot
longer to lose than with the RYN. I will be 5 mo out from RYN on the 13th
and started out at 258 and am down to 175. I don't really exercise much as
I work crazy hours and am a single mom so its hard for me to get any in. I
walk sometimes, but not a lot. Just follow your NUT/doc orders and make
sure you are getting your protein, fluids and exercise in (preaching to
myself here) :) You're doing great, don't fret.

My thoughts are it one depends on age and what procedure you had done.
This is not a race between patients each body is different. At 10 mths out
what are you eating? Are you making sure to get your 64 ounces of fluids
in through out the day and snacking/eating on the foods you are suppose to.
Are you eating while you drink? If so then that can be a cause as well.
I would love to know more and help you if you need.
I am 3 years out and I am at 198 getting back to 185 had a baby 6 mths ago.
I have lost almost 40 pounds from the baby.
So if you need help I am here for you because I have been there.
What surgery did you have.

I too am a slow loser with you. Was told to hang in there and it will kick
in as everyone has their own pace. I lost 27 lbs. before surgery on
December 24th and 33 in the last 2 months. The first month I lost 25 lbs.
and sat for 3 1/2 weeks before a couple more came off. I am again at 2
weeks with nothing. I guess we will get there when we get there. I also
work out 5 days a week.

I am a slow loser too... so do not worry.. I had mine 7-11-07 256, rny and
as of today I am at 165. i have been at this weight or up or down a few
pounds for about 3 weeks.. My body will lose it and then holds at the next
weight for 3 weeks or so, before it drops again.. I took my measuments and
for me I see the difference there when I am not losing.. So in my opinion
you are doing fine..

Hello Constance and congratulations on your weight loss. I am 16 months
out from lap rny and have lost 200 pounds. Starting weight was 347 now
weigh 147 with a BMI of 22.3. I lost a lot of weight in the first 3
months, but the weight loss after that was continuous (mostly) but slower.
I did not cheat and still stick with the basics - exercise, eat protein
first, have 64 oz of fluids/day and take your vitamins. If you stick with
it and follow your doctors advice and you will get to your goal.

I am also 10 months out and have lost 113 lbs and at 153. It depends on
what surgery you've had, how well you follow your diet and your system.
Some people lose faster then others. I was considered a light weight but
still lost rather quickly doctor found out I had a thyroid condition that
effected my weight loss also.
