Dont get discouraged... sounds like you know what's lacking... challenge
yourself... "up" your standards! You can do it! You will do
it... just "do it". You have already come quite a ways! Keep
going... I'm proud of you... and, it's amazing... once you start working
out, you'll see the difference fast! Try... and good luck. Be Blessed!

I actually just had a follow up appointment at my doctors office and spoke
with the nutritionists in the office about my diet. She told me a few
things that might be of interest to you. She said that I needed to make
sure that I was eating my 1200 calories and my needed 60-70 grams of
protein per day with no more than 5-6 grams of fat per meal and snack. I
should also be eating something every 2-3 hours. She explained all of this
was necessary to keep my metabolism going or I would plateau. Maybe this
is something that is happening to you. I havent really been exercising
either and she told me that I should work up to 200 minutes per week of
exercise and that can even consist of taking stairs instead of elevator or
parking farther in a parking lot. Hope this helps! Good Luck---Terrie

I don't what weight you were when you started. Most people will end up
15-20% above their ideal weight, and some will get to their ideal wieght
through being very diligent about exercise daily, and their diet. Daily
exercise is a must. The first year to 18 months is when you'll loose most
of your weight. So it's better to follow every rule your doctor gives you
in this time frame. I'm sure he recommended daily exercise. Even walking a
mile or so daily is considered exercise. I walk 1 1/4 miles daily for my
exercise, and that has worked for me.

you have done a great job!!!!!! look at things this way: you have been the
SAME wt for 6 months, that is maintaining- most people would have GAINED wt
in that 6 months. just focus on your exercising since you know that is your
weakness!! you can do it!!!!!! hope this helps..Holly

Welcome to my world! I had gastric bypass 12/07 as well. I am between
164-168 depending on the time of the month. I had my one year checkup and
had the same talk with my surgeon...basically i needed to up my exercise.
I have been going faithfully to the gym everyother day and walking. It has
only been 3 weeks since i have been putting a major effort into making
exercise more of a habit. I have not lost since August. I feel great and
am ok if this is where i am going to end up. I just want to be in the best
shape I can be. (even if that is 20 lbs heavier than I though I would be.
I am going to keep up with the exercise and hope for the best.
