Question:
Why am I experiencing tingling and numbness

In my hands, I feel like needles are poking my feet and hands too.Also some painful muscles in my shoulder.I feel like I am going to get a cramp all the time.What can it be? I had Rny on 9/18/2007.I also have loose bm's    — nanacindy (posted on December 15, 2007)

I'm thinking you should maybe try some B12--sublingual...as after bypass surgery, we no longer absorb B12 in our stomachs...just a thought--hth

YOU REALLY NEED TO CALL YOUR SURGEON ASAP as in NOW! It might be a sign of something serious caused by dehydration. Before WLS I got a terrible intestinal bug and finally went to the ER, who reported my electrolytes were so bad I was at risk of a heart attack. So call your surgeon now and get checked immediately. Better safe than sorry!

There is this type of neuropathy that sometimes happens, like in 10% of WLS patients. It may be nothing more than something like that. Good that you called your doc! God bless

Well I received a call back from my surgeon. He was not to concern about my problem. He said that I need to go see my pcp or go to nearest hospital if needed. I felt like I was bothering him. Actually he made me feel like I was talking to wrong person. So I am going to go in to urgent care in morning. Just to be safe. I thank you all of you wonderful people that responded to my question.

I have the same exact problem going on. I was told I should also check with my PCP, but haven't done so yet. I did have it both on my hands and feet, but now its more so in my hands. I have a slight case of carpel tunnel, so I was thinking it was that. I'll be interested to see what the doc says. Let us know!
