Question:
Has anyone been approved for a tummy tuck and breast lift through Humana HMO?

My RNY was done in 2000 by dr. Joseph Vitello, can not say enough good things about him and his staff. Right now I need a tummy tuck and a breast lift desperately. United Health Care rejected my claim. I am now retired with Humana HMO. I plan to make a request soon. Hope it will be approved.    — thamesdiva (posted on December 14, 2007)

I am having a tummy tuck Thursday that my insurance company is paying for (YIPPEE!!) However my plastic surgeon told me that she has never had a insurance company pay for a lift due to wieghtloss. To cover a reduction surgeon has to remove a certain ammount of weight from each breast. Apparently they need to be heavy as well as droopy (sorry for the wording) and after WLS they usually don't have enough weight to them.
