Question:
I am 5 months post-op and I have lost 76 pounds, it seems that
the weight is coming off slower. I was wondering if other people that had RNY around 6/07 are having the same issues. Would love to find and online buddy who is going through the same thing as me. — Kimberly_N (posted on November 12, 2007)

I had mine 4 years ago. It is hard when it falls off so fast at first and
then slows down. It will come off and you will be so pleased with the
results. At 1 year you will be a fraction of your old self. Be patient!
It will all be worth it.

I had my open RNY on the same day as you! I have lost 84 lbs. as of today
so it sounds like we are very close. I too have noticed that the weight is
coming off much slower now than it did in the beginning. Martina

Hello Kimberly, I sound like you are doing very well. It has been 6 1/2
months since my surgery, and I have lost 87 lbs. i have also slowed down
on the weight lose. I am loosing a lot of inch though. I think we are
going to be ok, just continue to watch what we eat. God Bless you, Vanessa

You're doing well. The process does slow down. I'm almost 9 months out
and about 12 pounds from loosing that illustrious 100 pounds -- so you are
doing well. I believe I stayed at one weight for bout 3-4 weeks and then
one day -- bam five pounds had left town.
So don't get stressed or discouraged, it will begin to fall off again.

Kim, Please do not get discouraged. I went through the same thing. I did
not lose weight for 2 months and then boom, it started again. I had my
surgery last xmas, and did not lose all summer and then I stayed away from
the scale, next time I checked I had dropped another 20. Change your
routine alittle, I am not an exerciser either, but I started eating
different foods and that worked, I got into a rut with eating the same
things all the time, changed it up. Hope that helps, stay away from Mr.
Scale for a few weeks and see what happens, best of luck

Kimberly you are doing great! I know how you feel. I had mine in May 16
and I'm down 72 lbs. I get frustrated because it is so slow now, but I
have to remind myself of the last time I lost this much weight and don't
remember the last time I was a size 14!! I hear it will keep coming off
slowly, but surely. I hurt my knee about 2 months ago so I slowed down on
my exercise a lot which I know doesn't help the weight coming off. Anyway,
you are doing good, keep it up!!

Have you gone to the Obesity Help forum for people had surgery in the same
month as you did? I have participated in my April 06 forum from the start
and it has been the most help to me. Julia

Kimberly I had my surgery July 31 of 2007 and I lost 19 pounds during my
liquid diet and then 49 since July 31.....I feel a little bit of a struggle
too that I'm evaluating the things I eat and pondering what is going on
with my body that my weight loss has slowed down...I know I need to walk
too, but maybe my honeymoon stage is over....maybe I'm gonna have to work
more now for my weight loss??? I'd love to keep up with your progress as
well

I had RNY 7/9/07. I have lost 84lbs and 12 inches off my waist.
I think you are doing great. Right now your body is going through alot of
changes. I would lose 1 or 2 pounds one week then the next I would 10
pounds. Just drink plenty of water and exercise as much as you can
tolerate. Good luck
