Question:
Is orange juice with "NO Pulp" considered a clear liquid?

i am a nurse and i may be wrong, but i think even though it has no pulp it
would still be considered more of a full liquid, which is a step up from
clear liquids. check with your surgeon or nutritionist for a more personal
answer, because what is allowed differs alot depending on your surgeon's
guidelines. hope this helps, Holly

Nope! Orange Juice is HIGH in sugar. Avoid it for quite a while unless
you want to dump and I've heard dumping is NOT fun! However what you can
do after about 3 months is water OJ down. Like half oj and half water.
But you have to be careful! It's always best to ask your
surgeon/nutritionist! Good luck!

Yep, too much sugar. I would stay away from all fruit juices cuz of the
sugar content. Crystal lite makes an orange drink which is pretty good.

The definition of "clear liquid" is that you can see through it.
Can you see through OJ? NO. So it's not a clear liquid. Also, like the
other said... the sugar in it may make you dump even if it says sugar free.
I had trouble with natural sugars after my surgery for almost the whole
first year.
I know it's hard to stay on the clear liquid diet but you are doing
yourself a favor by following it. Broths, sugar free jello water and jello,
water, tea, etc. Give your pouch time to heal and it will appreciate you in
the long run.

citrus juices are considered poor food choices for new posties because they
are acid, and can cause irritation and ulcers in a newbie.. do check with
your doctor.

Freeze it to a slurpee consistancy, its so refreshing and you wont get a
whole lot of sugar at once, its a natural sugar so I never had dumping with
it

I looked at your profile and it looks like you have a surgery date
scheduled, but have not had it yet. Is this for a Pre-op liquid diet? Might
make a difference, although I am not sure even at that that it would be
considered a clear liquid suitable for a liquid diet. Check with your
doctor. Good luck!

I'd check with your doc on it... not really.
As far as the sugar content, there is a really good orange juice, sold in
the same place as other juices, that is low sugar / low carb. To me, it
tastes like regular orange juice but I believe is sweetened with splenda.
Still some sugar but not nearly as much as regular OJ.
Good luck
