Question:
I just had a lap band on the 29th. When is it ok to exercise?

What did your Doc say? You should be doing a little walking each day - but
I think there is no heavy lifting until your sites are healed. Carlotta

I had mine done on 4/30/07 and my DR. told me only walking is allowed right
now,NO BENDING, NO LIFTING, NO TWISTING just walking. Your body needs
toheal first because excercise could cause slipping or tearing Please

I had lapband 2/13/07. My doctor wanted me walking for short periods of
time several times a day for the first week, then I could increase the
length of time and intensity as tolerated, but I couldn't lift more than 10
lbs for 6 weeks.

Only YOUR doctor can answer this question. Everyone is different and you
don't want complications.

Hi Elizabeth. I agree that you might want to ask your doctor, but if you
feel like you can go for a walk, they have you walking in the hospital, so
you can walk at home. Walking is great for circulation, to prevent blood
clots and to get started, so if you feel up to it, get out there on this
beautiful day and walk. Since you had surgery just a few days ago, I would
take a buddy or cell phone though, and make it a short walk. You can
always walk twice around the same block instead of a mile away from your
hub (your home). You want to be able to get help or sit if you get winded,
but exercise is good for recovery, unless your doctor says otherwise, get
out there and get busy, you have weight just aching to come off, work it
girl! Patricia P.

My doctor said I could ride a stationary excercise bike 7 days after sugery
if I feel up to it. But, I've heard a month for any excercise that is not
light. Best thing to do is call the dr.
