I've lost too much weight , and I sure hav'nt been trying to started out at 327, and I'm now 120 . I eat ever in sight even foods I've been told to avoid . I'm almost 6 years out from ru-y . Seems I'm skin over bones and really look bad held my weight at 160 forever, all of a sudden started dropping for no reason at all . I eat protien and all kinds of carbs, drink plenty of water . As anyone heard of a wa to put some weight on , I'm very worried at this time...Sandy — Sandra S. (posted on April 7, 2007)

I hate to say this but you are probably in the minority of people losing
after 6 years. If you don't have a medical problem, It's probably time to
change your eating plan. I would meet with a dietician or nutritionist who
specializes in bariatric patients and see what they come up with. You
should probably be cutting back on protein and increasing carbs. If your
surgeon is no longer around, find out who is doing surgery in your area and
see if the nutritionist will see you for a consultation. Good luck!

Hi Sandy. Congratulations on 6 years of success! Sandy, you should probably
see your primary care physician. Unexplained weight loss can be a symptom
of some serious illnesses. Take care and my hopes for you good
health...Joan

When is the last time that you had your thyroid checked? You need to go
have a physical. Your metabolism is jacked up for some reason or you are
not asbsorbing what you are eating for some reason. good luck to you....

Hi Sandra, and thanks for your question. You have had a great weight loss,
and I understand your aprehension. I am required to see my surgeon every
year, when was the last time you had a visit? I looked at your profile,
and I don't know your age, but I assume it is in the middle-grandparent age
group, and for you it could be a completely different health issue. Please
see your doctor right away, any sudden weight loss is a trigger for
disease, and you need to get that checked out. Sometimes weight loss or
gain is the only symptom of something. It could be related to wls, but you
and your doctor need to work this one out. Please do that this week, don't
delay. Don't worry, take action for your health. Take care, Patricia P.

Duragesic may be your problem. I lost a lot of weight on Duragesic--it
slows down the stomach and intestines. Slow stomach and intestines can
take away your appetite, make you full after a bite or two... can also
cause nausa, vomitting, weightloss, and other stuff. Try tracking your
food for 2 or 3 days... measure things. You may be eating a lot less than
you think. I lost 80lbs on Duragesic without really noticing. My pants
started falling down... :) I am going to try and email you personally as
I think that I might have some suggestions for you. I am waiting on a
spinal stimulator (assuming that is the implant you are referring to). I
have not WLS because I lost the 80lbs--but I'm sure I'll gain it all back
when I get better--DOH!
