My insurance won't pay for lap band. Can I get assistance of any kind?

Do you qualify for any kind of state aid? or Medicare? Are you absolutely positive your insurance won't cover the surgery no matter what? I've heard of insurances saying "we don't cover weight loss surgery", only to find out that they will cover it with co morbities i.e. high blood pressure, diabetes, sleep apnea, etc. I think I'd do some more checking into that.
