Question:
Has anyone on CA Medi-cal had the tt/body reconstruction approved and done

I am almost 7 months post op and know that I will need plastics done but was wondering if anyone has ever had them done on Medi-cal and if so with who?    — Joy S. (posted on July 31, 2006)

I have done alot of research into plastic surgery. Luckily for me I will only really need a tummy tuck. Unfortunately I have found (In my area) the doctors that do accept insurance, if you can get it approved, are the doctors you really don't want doing the surgery. The good ones don't take insurance. I have also discovered that plastic surgery is EXTREMELY PAINFUL, far worse than the WLS. Also, recovery is longer.

I have checked into this as I too will need a lot of reconstructive surgery after I complete my gastric bypass. I live about 86 miles south from you in rio dell. In eureka there is a dr. that takes medi-cal and has worked with several patients after their gastric bypass whose name I believe is Dr. Robert Green. He is located 1626 myrtle ave. in eureka ca. 95501 and number is 707-444-3439. He was mentioned during some of the support group meetings we have here in humboldt county. Best of luck to you.
