Question:
just diagnosed with osteoporosis 4yrs post RNY what med can I take to absorb?

My PCP ordered a powdered form of Fosamax. copay is very high. Price is over $200 as compared with $7 for the tablet. Does anyone have any data on absorption of the osteo drugs?    — grammaof8 (posted on August 2, 2014)

I had RNY and I take Fosamax tablets, and have for quite a few years. By the results of my Dexa scans, I don't seem to have had any issues with absorption. Talk to your PCP and let him or her know of the copay difference, and ask to try the tablets.
