Question:
I am 7 yrs post-op. I had a perforation of the non-functioning stomach.
The surgeon has never seen this before. Has anyone had this happen to them. — Dawn P. (posted on July 7, 2010)

Just wanted to wish you well and hope you recover quickly. You haven't had
to take any drugs that would fall into the anti-inflammatory classification
would you? I know per my surgeon that I am not to take any meds,
prescription or otherwise, that have this effect because it's systemic and
not necessary for the drug to come in contact. Again, I am so sorry you
experienced this. Hopefully you will hear from others and find the answer
so this never happens to you again. HUGS - Pat

Hi there. Sorry I don't have any answers for you but I do have a question.
What were your symptoms? For about the past three months I've been
getting some pretty serious pain right around my sternum area that goes all
the way through to my back. I've been referred to a cardiologist (to be
safe) and back to the gastric dr. Both my PCP and the cardiologist have a
feeling it's by-pass related. So until I can get back to the gastric Dr.
I'm hunting around to see if anyone else has similar symptoms.
Thanks and good luck to you!

Hi...Sorry I don't have an answer for you ,either. But, I also have those
pains in my sternum that go to my back. There is never a real trigger for
them, and the pain only last about 5 minutes.I have had these ever since my
surgery 4 years ago(RNY). I have had my heart checked as well, and it is
fine. After the pains go away, there is no further symptoms.I am also
curious about what your symptoms were? Also, what caused it, and how do
they fix it? Best wishes to you! Gina
