Hi, i'm not sure when you had your surgery but I still experience stomach
pain after eating and know that it's a tell tale sign that i'm going to
vomit. I'm 4 months post op and my surgeon told me that the pain is your
stomach trying to "work" the food down to digest. If you are
eating something that gives you significant discomfort, then your stomach
wasn't ready to handle it quite yet. Hope that helps !

MaryJean it's not uncommon for someone to have this happen when they're
still learing how to eat soon after surgery. However according to your
profile you had your surgery almost 7 years ago. Since the pain is
obviously strong enough to concern you it would be best to contact your
doctor. You'll need to give him/her more information than just pain after
eating to find out what is going on. Good luck!

I tried to explain more, but had a hard time posting...anyways, I went to
the doctor and he thinks it might be my medicines given me issues. He gave
me prevacid to try for the month....it feels like I have heartburn in my
stomach and when I eat, or drink, it hurts really bad. I am 7 years out
and have maintained my weight...infact, I am still losing weight which is a
problem...I am 5'10 and weigh 146 lbs. I had a partial hysto in January
and since then I have lost a whole pants size (8-6 to a 6-4)...they have
checked thyroid and etc, but feel I am under a lot of stress...thus
probably why my stomach hurts...maybe an ulcer....?? Anyways, thans for
posting back, I appreciate it :) Maryjean
