MY NAME IS MIKE IM 5 YRS INTO MY SURGERY AND I COULD TELL THAT THE SCALE IS
GOING TO DRIVE YOU UP THE WALL YOUR GOING TO GET ON ONE DAY AND THE NUMBERS
ARE GOING TO GO THE WRONG WAY AND YOUR GOING TO FLIP OUT YOU NEED TO KEEP
DOING WHAT YOUR DR TELLS YOU TO AND I PROMICE YOU YOU WILL GET TO THE
WEIGHT YOU WANT TO BE AT IF YOU REALLY NEED TO WEIGHT YOUSELF TRY TO DO
ONCE A WEEK ONE THE SAME DAY AND TIME DONT DO IT EVERYDAY I KNOW BECAUCE
THATS WHAT I DID AND I ALMOST GAVE UP BECAUSE I DIDNT THINK IT WAS WORKING
FOR ME I DONT KNOW IF THIS IS TRUE OR NOT BUT I REALLY BELEAVE THAT WHEN
YOU LOSE SO MUCH WEIGHT SO FAST YOUD BODY STARTS TO SHRINK AND THE NUMBER
ON THE SCALE STAYS THE SAME WHILE IN THE PRACESS

Thank you Mike, I just thought taking in only 500 cal a day that I would
not have a day without losing. Thank you Penni

Hi Penni,
I had the sleeve on 7/31/09, and I've hit about 3 plateau's. I found that
if I make sure I get all my protein and drinking all the liquids (and more,
if you can), the scale will go the right way again. Be sure to get your
daily exercise, too. Don't weigh every day, maybe once a week. If you've
taken your measurements, you will most likely see a loss of inches, which
is great. Hope this helps.

Penni, I had the sleeve 3/02/09. I started out quite a bit bigger than you
are, but about a month in, I hit a 5 week plateau. One week later, I hit a
3 week plateau. I was seriously freaked. Since then, I have hit slow
downs, but no more plateaus, and am now down 124lbs. Keep training
yourself on the basics: dense, lean protein first; no drinking with meals;
eat slowly; lots of water; take good suppliments religiously; 3 to 4 meals
a day (no grazing); stay away from the sugars, snacks, fats, carbonated
drinks that got you where you are. If you are doing these things, you will
lose, and you will lose relatively quickly. Hang in there.

Plateaus are there to allow our bodies to adjust to a new weight and a new
way of living. Just keep on keeping on, and remember that the number on
the scale is just one piece of information. It's not even the only one.
Measurements are another. Practice mindful eating and be aware of how your
body feels, and you will get through this plateau, and all the others to
come. Celebrate, you are a new you!
