Question:
can i take a stool softener had surgery 5 days ago no bowel movement yet

If you are not uncomfortable it should come soon It was five days before my first bm But always let your doctor know what going on

I was told immediately post-op that stool softeners would probably be a permanent part of my life. In fact, I was given a stool softener in the hospital. I take Colace, and now that I can have fiber, I drink lots of the Benefiber new Kiwi Strawberry "stick packs" (kinda like Crystal Light On The Go). They're really good and they work!!

i had the gastric sleeve, but my surgeon told me that it would be normal he said i may even be 4-5 days between BM's because we are not eating anything.. now one you move off of the liquid diet that would change
