While I was on the soft food phase of my post-op period, I ate low-fat
cottage cheese with a taste of the dry original (buttermilk) Hidden Valley
Ranch dressing mix in it, sugar-free-fat-free pudding, EggBeaters, Taco
Bell refried beans thinned with beef broth, low-fat-low-carb smooth yogurt.
It's VERY important to remember NOT to eat MORE than your surgeon
recommends at one sitting - in my case, that was what I could fit into a
one-ounce cup (we bought jello shooter cups, which hold exactly one ounce,
and used them). You also have to make sure not to eat too fast, and to
chew REALLY GOOD, at least 30 times. I'm also a huge sushi lover, and I
tried having the chefs at my favorite sushi restaurant take just the fish
(scallops) and chop it up until it was nearly mush, add in a tiny bit of
mayo and some smelt roe, and I ate that with the tip of a baby spoon very
slowly, to see what would happen (no rice, no nori, no other vegetables or
anything - just the fish). It disolved in my mouth, and didn't cause any
problems at all, so it became part of my soft food diet, too. I'm now
having them do the same thing with the salmon, so that I can get in my
omega-3 vitamins. Another thing I did was puree canned white meat chicken
with a tiny bit of mayo and some chicken broth in my Vitamix, and that was
very tasty. Hope this helps!

Go to www.bariatriceating.com and you will have some great choices of
foods. I found that the cottage cheese with a teaspoon of sugar-free
smuckers jams are really good and high in protein too. That was my fav.
Basically anything you can flake easily with a fork, even soft scrambled
eggs too are ok for that stage. Check out that website and you will get
some great choices also you tube videos, some ppl tell in their vids what
they eat during each stage change. GL to you :)

I enjoyed chili, black beans, refried beans, ground beef with taco
seasonings ,mashed potatoes, ground chicken or turkey with low fat gravy.
All in very small amounts. Start slow and don't add more than one thing at
a time so you can see if it bothers you. Everyone is different. Good luck.
It only gets better.
