Question:
Anyone not needed a fill after LapBand?
I'm almost 3 months post LapBand and have not needed a fill/adjustment. My weight loss is still 1-2 lbs/week average over the last month and I'm just afraid when I do need a fill, the band will have slipped. Has anyone gone this long without a fill? — cindyleo (posted on January 27, 2009)

I am not sure why you would think that your band has slipped if you need a
fill. It is normal to need fills. I had my first fill at 2 months. You
are doing great with your weight loss. I have had 3 fills and I am only
losing less than a 1lb a week. Not very good so enjoy the weight loss and
don't be afraid of a fill if you start to get hungry. Susan

Cindy -- sometimes there are people (and I was one of them) where we are
restricter from surgery (without any fill yet). You will definitely come
to a point where you will need to get your fills, they are very important.
If you are continuing to lose, you are doing ok, but when you start losing
less, you will be ready for a fill. I suggest checking with your surgeon
and/or support group for more details. Sounds like you are doing very
well. Good luck to you. ~ Mary (Lap Band 1/5/2004).

I have a friend who had LB and her fill wasn't until she was about 5 months
out. She was doing fine without a fill. Don't be worried, be happy. You
might be amoung the very few. I plan on having mine in June or July.
Keep up the good work.
