RNY surgery will offer slightly different results. For the larger people,
initial wt loss will be greater. For the "lightwt" the loss will
be less. I lost 100 pounds in 7 months post op. That works out to about
.476 pounds per day. Some weeks had no wt loss, others more. Your wt loss
is about .36 pounds per day. I did better at wt loss when I attended wt
loss support groups on a regular basis. Statistics show that those RNY
patients who attend regular wt loss support groups tend to do far better at
wt loss vs those who don't attend. DAVE

HI Jennie, we all want to support you and help, however this is the 3rd or
4th time you have posted this same question in the last 2 or 3 days. Many
people have responded back with helpful advice. I myself even sent you a
long email trying to help. As I have said before, in addition to the great
advice everyone here has given, you need to make a follow-up appointment
with your surgeon, and discuss this problem directly with him, and also
with your Nutritionist (If you saw a Nutritionist before or after surgery).
You really need the help of your surgeon to determine if there is a
problem.

I think I already answered this question with the fact you have lost 54# in
5 months which seems to be great to me. I don't want to be redundant and
say the same suggestions over again so I will wish you good luck.

I am new, but this is what I think you should do...
Be honest with yourself, if you think you have been doing everything you
know you should be, then call your nut and make an appt for about 2 weeks
out. Then start a very honest daily log of everything you put in your
mouth and what exercise you are doing. Do not skip a day, take it to the
nut and ask what you should change.
I am saying this because you seem unhappy with your wt. loss not because I
think 54lb is too slow.
I looked up your profile, I do not understand how you people here on OH are
even supposed to give you advice when they have no real information about
you, can't see what you have been doing in the past, or what your wt. loss
has been like up to this point. I am glad they are helping you, but it
sounds like you need to take a look at yourself (about how you are
feeling), turn to your nut, and seek out a local support group. I have
promised myself that if I am constantly feel things are not
"right" mentally or physically during this process, that I would
seek help from medical professionals (including a therapist). Most of us
have serious food issues, and this journey is not all about just the # of
pounds lost, but the whole person that we are, and want to become.

Jennie,
You can try eating straight protein only and drink, drink, drink!

Are those results typical? I have been reading with a gastric bypass that
it's 70%-80%. If you don't get an answer here, contact your surgeon's
staff. Are they still providing aftercare? I ask because I haven't had
surgery. I'm getting cold feet. What are your thought on the weight you
did lose? Is it good? Sincerely, Corina

Jen, I don't understand your complaint, where you losing more than 10
pounds per month before surgery? I think you are doing great. Every body
is different, and if you are patient and diligent, you will be satisfied
with your results? Congratulations on your 54 pounds. Patricia P.

I think everyone who has already posted an answer to the question should
either think of a new POSITIVE thing to say or let your previous answer
stand. The answer given by one was ..did you lose that much before
surgery? Jennie must have concerns or she wouldn't have posted a question.
Lets get real people haven't we all had a question about our own path at
one time or another and asked for input from several different people???
Jennie, try adding more protein, and remember at least we aren't gaining
weight anymore (that is what I tell myself when I get discouraged about the
rate of weight loss).

scale because they can disappoint u. be proud of yourself!!! your surgery
is a tool to assist u in your wl journey, just remember most of us didnt
get to our highest weight overnight. i know for me it has been a life long
