Question:
Looking for a surgeon in/near conyers that is covered by BCBSofIL

I am looking for a surgeon that performs the lap RNY i have been researching and it seems that all of the surgeons around my area either arent covered under BCBS of IL, or they dont perform the RNY any help would be great! thanks in advance    — Amanda T. (posted on May 8, 2008)

Have you checked to ?see if your insurance will approve it. I have this insurance and from what I can tell you have to have a 6 month diet program that was monitored by your doctor. Do you have this?

BCBS Insurance is a royal pain in the ass. They require a lot of B.S. I know others that couldn't get approved at all. You may want to check with Dr. James Debord. He has no bedside manner but is a good surgeon. I had an open RNY with him over 9 years ago. I don't know if he does the lap RNY or not. You could check with him though. He is in Peoria.
