Question:
Are avocados good to eat?
Are Avocados a good source of protein for us? I ahve gotten where I can't eat, everything gets stuck. So i'm only eating mushy stuff or liquids. And I really like Grac salad. It seems really hard to get all the protein in! — shellymarie (posted on March 5, 2008)

My doctor put them on my OK list after the first month. He said they ahve
a lot of oil so try them slowly and see how you do. I had no problem, but
almost any extra fat in beef will make me sick.

You might want to try protein capsules. You can get them at
www.nashuanutrition.com They're called Capsul-Pro. Good luck!

they have protein, but not an abundance of it....also see below:
Avocado
The avocado is high in fat, but most of the fat is the heart-healthy
monounsaturated kind. We know the avocado tastes great, but outside of an
occasional guacamole dip, few of us reach for this high-fiber food for
salads or as a great side dish.
You'll also get protein, a good dose of vitamins A and E, some B vitamins,
lots of potassium and a dollop of copper. The rich and creamy avocado has
been called the "chocolate" of fruits.

you have to remember to chew your food till it turns to a thin mush before
you swallow. then you should be ok . if you dont chew you wont be able to
keep it down

There's a lot of good things in Avocados but an abundance of protein it is
not. It's also not the worst food you could eat. I grew up in Key West
and we did reach for an Avocado just like folks reach for apples elsewhere
(I was a skinny kid, too)! Don't eat too much of this food but do enjoy it
when you really need too. Protein is priority number one at all times.
Good luck to you, Leslie

They are indeed! But there is a rule about avocado. Half for you, half for
me. They are about $5/each here this time of year. Need my address? LOL
