Question:
Answer to question
Yes, I have bowel movements, seldom ever constipated, I go ever other day or so, but when the urge strikes, I better have a bathroom close.. Today I have been very careful of what I eat, I am going to try and see if something triggers it .. All I know is the discomfort is awful, and the feeling of having to go to the bathroom all the time is to the best on the job. I do still vomit when food don't agree with me, I don't know if gall bladder can cause this sort of thing or not, but I will be making a Dr. Appt as soon as I can. I dad had colon cancer, and you know how that can keep one worried, thanks for all the post and your concerns, I do thank you for that . — Reelbaby (posted on November 13, 2007)

Nancy, have you considered lactose intolerance? I was recently diagnosed
with it by my nutritionist by keeping a food diary . You'd be surprised how
many things have milk powder in them!

No, i have never tried it , i know i love cottage cheese and it has good
protein but that even made me feel so bad yesterday, i don't drink milk or
eat ice cream, they both smother me (well it feels like it is ) I was
thinking about what are some things i have been eating, and it has been a
trail mix with pumpkin seeds, (high protein) different dried fruits and
nuts and seeds, i did read that dried fruits could cause some bloating, but
this is just more than the bloating i think,it is lasting to long, days at
a time, i just ate my dinner, not sure what to try, so i soft boiled an egg
with a half piece of toast, i threw it up, so i guess i will strike that
off my list of my favorites things to eat... How do u ever know for sure
about the lactose intolerance ? Is there other test one can take ?

Bowel movements and gas after this surgery seem to be a part of the side
effects of this surgery. Sometimes when I urinate I have a bowel movement
at the same time -- even more so now then when I first had the surgery.
I'm wondering if this change in body functions is because of the change in
diet.

YOur doc did not remove your gall bladder during the surgery? I was told
that it is typical for it to be removed if you still have it. I had mine
removed last year (prior to surgery....I am actually 4 weeks pre-op for
RNY) and your symptoms sound very much like gall bladder disease. I would
ask your doc to do an ultrasound.

I too had similar symptoms after my surgery and was diagnosed with Lactose
Intolerance. There is no specific test. Buy over the counter pills for it
and try them. If your symptoms subside - you've solved your problem. Worth
a try. Good luck.

What about dumping syndrom? Anything over 15 gr of sugar and I'm in
trouble.
