Question:
Had RNY 08 lost 117 lbs. 1/2 of me :p but now I gained 3 lbs. back

and I feel hungry all the time. I had an ablasion surgery in Nov. stopped periods in January, could me being hungry be part of that, or is my pouch streched?    — * S. (posted on February 4, 2010)

If your homones are out of control it will mess with your bodies understanding of hunger. you will need to keep safe foods on had for when the hunger strikes. Keep away from foods that have lots of carbs or fats. and if you feel really antsy try a walk. I know when my levels were out of whack I really struggled. Talk to your doctor about it. Maybe a medicine change or addition will help balance things back out. But even if this hunger stays with you learning to have safe foods on hand like beef jerky or nuts can help keep you from putting the weight on.

I don't like negative responses, however I must say that "3 lbs" is possibly bieng Mental or not psychologically fit for the ups and downs that you were told up front would happen. On a daily basis every human bieng varies thier wieght by a few pounds. Your lightest when you first wake up. Then check out what you weigh before you go to bed. It usually is a few lbs. difference. A small suggestion is don't get caught in the Scale Watching game. Don't weigh more than one time a week. Obviously if you check every day it will vary and 3 lbs is like a 25 lbs devistation. Sorry but for those of us that have had weight regain we don't have much sympathy for 3 lbs. I don't. Monitor it over time you will go up and down like naturaly happens.

I had surg 12/2008 and have lost 105 pounds. Still have 35 to go. A weight gain of 10% of what you lost is normal, however I am going to do what I can to avoid that. As the others said, 3 pounds is really nothing. Could be water weight or other things. I wouldn't worry about the 3 pounds. I can wake up in the morning and have gained 3 pounds. I have learned not to worry about it becuase it is usually something like water or maybe I haven't eaten enough and my body is holding on to what it can. Don't panic over 3 pounds, but also take it seriously. Look at what you have eaten and your exercise schedule.
