could be a UTI - urinary tract infection. Does it hurt and burn when you
urinate, you feel like you always have to go but then there is only a few
drips? Does your lower back hurt? The doc should be able to tell you
right away if it is a UTI. Good luck

Sounds like a UTI, call the doctor, they can give you something.

Usually they can tell it it is a UTI in hte office right away. Not sure
what they are checking for. Hope it clears up soon.

You have not said if you are reciently operated. If you ar the chance is
good that they used a cathater during surgery to help you urinate.
SOmetimes this can cause a urinary tract infection. You need medication to
have this cleared up if this is the cause. You should have the results
right away. Go to another doctor or emergancy at a hospital.

Hi Nour, I agree with all the other posts. You should make sure you get
your results from your doctor just to be sure. I'm 2 months out now from
rny. I have the same problem on occasion when I urinate but I find if I
double my fluid intake (usually just water with nothing mixed) it seems to
clear the problem up by the next day. Fluids are so very important after
rny. So while you're waiting for your doctor's results you might want to
double your intake of water for just a couple of days and see if that
affects your situation. Good luck and God bless.

I've been having problems with painful urination also. It feels like a UTI
but it comes and goes. I think it may be associated with being dehydrated.
Up your fluid intake, and see if that helps. Also, I found a cranberry chew
at Walgreens that is the equivilant of 7 glasses of cranberry juice, it
helped a lot. Don't let your Dr off the hook it's very important to rule
out UTI's.

I could be a bladder infection. Make sure you are drinking a lot of fluids
especially now. The dr should be able to tell from the lab work he did. I
don't know if yeast infections hurt when you urinate, I don't get them, I
haven't had a kidney stone, but I sure have had a fair share of bladder
infections. Try drinking diet cranbury juice, diet; since you can't drink
the sugar or at least try to dilute it, I don't know if that helps with the
sugar. Your dr will give you an antibotic for which ever it is.

I agree with the other posters that you need to keep after your doctor.
However, in the meantime, try Azo-standard which is over the counter at the
drugstore. It is amazing how quickly and efficiently it relieves the pain
and burning from a UTI if that is what you have. Just ask your pharmacist
for it.
