I know for the first 3 weeks after my surgery I had liquids only. Sugar
Free jello, broth, propel, sugar free popsicles, then I graduated to a
scrambled egg, refried beans, and I took deli meat "turkey" and
rolled it up with a piece of deli cheese...At this stage you don't really
don't have a variety of food to eat. Plus I drank protein shakes..And
drank alot of water,, sip, sip... lol Good luck

My diet is from Dr Graber's office. Who have you chosen for your surgeon?
Dr Graber's office has a nutrionalist who walks you through the first 7
week post op diet.

week 1 is clear liquids only. 2-4 is full liquids and pureed food 3 times
daily (1/4 cup). As long as you can puree it and you watch the carbs and
fat, you're good.

Your surgeon should be providing this to you. Each surgeon has what they
feel is the "ideal" diet and don't like their patients to deviate
from this. Some allow carbs early on, some restrict them until 75% of
excess weight has been lost. You can find tons of post op diets online from
various weight loss centers. These will give you an idea of what to expect
but the easiest would be to ask your doctor for his.

Liquids are the best. Give your pouch time to heal. It will be sore and
tender and swollen for weeks and the flesh will not have grown much over
the staples for anything but liquids to thick liquids to be tolerated. I
followed my doctors instructions to the tee, and I am happy to say that I
am almost 5 yrs post op RNY without any problems due to wls. So...baby
your pouch and be patient to have food. It will be worth the wait.
