I'm sure you could but if you accidently swallow it can be very difficult
for that to move through. I'm 6 months out from rny and have very little
difficulty with most food textures. I eat jerky when I'm travelling as a
meal (high protein, no carb!), but I am careful to chew like crazy. Be
careful, outlet blockage with foaming, nausea, and vomiting is no fun.

I would think it would be too early to eat jerky this early on. I could
barely eat anything at this point.. If it were me, I would skip the jerky
for a while it is just way to tough and I wouldn't risk the
"consequences" of not chewing it up thoroughly. I did it with an
apple about one month out and I had the foamies and vomiting for 3 hours.
Stick to soft protein, eggs, cheese, cottage cheese if I were you. Good
luck

I think others may have misunderstood your question. Yes, you can chew
meat without swallowing it. I am assuming you would spit it out. Some
people find this helpful just to get the taste. I never did, but have seen
others say it worked for them. But don't swallow it unless it is well
chewed and you are pretty early for jerky. Good luck!
