I'm using ADVANTAGE chocolate from Costco. 30g of protein, 1g sugar, 0fat.
They are 11 oz and taste pretty good. I thought the Slimfast was too
sweet.

I used and still use the Adkins Advantage. I like to add protein powder to
them to add to the protein. They have Dark Chocolate, Milk Chocolate,
Vanilla, Strawberry. I bought Rocky Road flavored Whey protein, Chocolate
Mint and then the plain. Do not buy anything more than the 2 pound
containers. It last a long time putting only 1 scoop per drink. I got my
protein through the Vitamin Shoppe here in Memphis. You can go online to
purchase the protein powder and the Adkins Advantage drinks are at Wal-Mart
and also at Sam's Club.

I've tried many of the protein shakes. Some were absolutely undrinkable,
others, I was able to tolerate. I now swear by Pro-Cal 100 and Z-Pro 25
from R-Kane Products (I order on line, just google it) They are actually
good, as opposed to just tolerable. I recently (2 days ago) read an article
on MSNBC on-line about foods that we think are good for us, but in reality,
they're NOT. Be careful of the products with soy based protein drinks.
"Soy as a major part of ones protein intake has been found to cause
lots serious problems." Various cancers in men and women among other
problems. I was shocked. (I used a soy based drink for my first 3 months
after RNY) Also, "using mainly soy protein during pregnancy is
causing birth defects in babies (especially boy babies)". I have no
agenda. We are all learning as we go along. We're learning (many times,
more than our docs and nutritionists) as we live the post WLS life. Learn
as much as you can before you
decide on what kind of protein you put in your body. My labs just came
back. I'm 10 months out. Everything is "2 thumbs up" I have a
harder time getting lean protein down. No matter how moist it is I still
have a problem. Of course, (junk goes down "easy as pie" ha ha)
so I still rely on protein bars ("Tiny Meal Bars) and shakes to make
sure I hit my 80-ish grams of protein each day. The protein in the products
I use (whey) are full of vitamins they taste real good, and keep me
feeling full for a long time. Good luck to you!

I've tried different types of shakes over the months. The one I found I
like the best is the Designer Whey in French Vanilla. I buy it at the
local grocery store in their nutrition isle. Its something like 18g of
protein per 3oz. I mix the scoop of powder with 3oz of water, two ice
cubes, and one packet of flavored drink mix (the kind you add to water
bottles). My favorite is the 4C fruit punch. It tastes just like a berry
smoothie.

Hi Shawnna...I drink Syntrax Nectar Sweets Chocolate Truffle (available
from the Vitamin Shoppe) with 100 calories, 1 carb and 23 grams of protein.
I also like Syntrax Nectar's Fuzzy Navel, with 90 calories, 0 carbs, and
23 grams of protein. Another good one, available from Costco, is EAS
Premium Protein (I like the chocolate), with 140 calories, 3 carbs, and 27
grams of protein. BUT - my favorites are the Inspire brands (Peanut Butter
Cookie, Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge, Cinnamon Cappacino, Caramel Latte
and Ice Cream Sandwich flavors) with basically 132 calories, 1 carb, and 25
grams of protein. They are the most delicious things I've ever tasted, and
they are only available from www.bariatricEating.com.

Hi! I am 1 year out...and have always used unflavored unjury. Its whey
based. I found some of the others were too sweet. The unjury has 20 grams
per scoop and I used 1 scoop in 8 ounces of milk in the beginning. Now i
lix it into flavored water. Remember your body will absorb only 30 grams an
hour, so if you are getting more than that, its wasted. I still a protein
drink occasionally and at 1 year out I have lil to no problems with
anything I eat...Of course I follow a strictly healthy eating regime. No
white flour, only wheat or whole grain, lots of seafood, chicken and little
red meats. i do, however, indulge in the sugar free dove chocolate candies
for a treat and I have the no sugar added fudgicles. Hope this helps.

Shawanna,
I have had a protein nightmare till last night I took costco protein EAS
poweder before surgery i loved it after surgery i could not stomach it.
last night i went to Vitamin shoppe go there they have lots to choose from
and they also give instore tasting samples out. They gave me "Gold
Stadard 100% Whey protein isolates" in chocolate flavor it was good
light tasting and no after taste. I bought the banana cream and cookies and
cream to give me a variety i came home and tried banana cream OMG it tasted
great like Jello Banana cream sugar free pudding. the cookies and cream was
good a little to vanilla for my likings. thats one i will use for a treat
with losts of ice blended and maybe freeze for ice cream like or somthing.
they make many flavors.... fruit punch, cookies n cream, banana cream,
strawberry, strawberry banana, mint chocolate, double chocolate, vanilla
ice cream and vanilla. If you look online and it is onsale (which it is
right now) print out the web page take it in and they match the price for
you from there online price. they also make this protein in smaller
containers so you can try it before buying the large container and not
knowing if you will like the flavor. I crave the banana cream it was the
first thing i wanted this morning, they also have a blender bottle there
its like 9 bucks and worth it. mixes fast and makes the drinks smooth.
Dont do slim fast, atkins, boost, etc you need to take 50 to 55 grams of
protein within 2 to 3 scoops of your protein poweder. they protein i am
recommneding is 24g a scoop. i make it with 2 scoops thats 48 grams then 12
oz of 2% reduced fat milk which makes another 15 grams of protein so my
total shake is 63 grams and the shakes go down smooth and pretty fast.
good luck!
