Question:
my pre~Op went great
I'm ready for my surgery on the 29th of June. There's no turning back now. I saw my doctor, and had a EKG done. On June 26th I need to go for a blood test. On the night before my surgery I need to take Magnesium Citrate, and only have clear liquids. Also I need to take a shower with this special soap. I can't eat after Midnight. We plan to stay somewhere close to the hospital since I need to be there at 8:30 in the morning. I can't believe that it's almost here, and how fast it went for me. I just want to cry cuz I'm so so happy. I just wanted to share what happened to today. 17 more days to go.....:) — treeeza (posted on June 12, 2009)

My RNY was 6/3 and I'm doing great. I don't mean to sound flipant but
there was nothing to it. Very little pain, no gas pains, no bowel problems
etc. I praise God for it too. Isn't it funny how doctors do it so
differently. I had to be on clear liquids 1 week prior to surgery...didn't
have to "clean myself out" the night before and no special soap.
The 29th will be here before you know it and I wish you as good an
experience as I have had so for.

Good for you. Bet your excited. Mine was 4/27/09. I only had to liquid fast
the day before and nothing after midnight too. No shower required (but I
took one )no special soap. I was scheduled for 7:30 doc's first surgery
for the day because I had to fast. The last thing I remember was them
starting the IV and being told I was being wheeled into the operation room
, next thing I remember I was being told to sit up and slide off the
stretcher so I could transfer to the hospital room bed. It was over. My
doctor didn't allow anything, not even ice chips for 2 days, but I didn't
want anything.
