Julia, Sounds like a call to your doctor is in order to make sure everything is ok - it's possible that your band has slipped or there is some kind of easy fix.

Are you chewing it a lot? like to mush? That might be the problem, otherwise maybe your last fill was just a little too much.

I too have had this problem and it takes me a few days to "get it" - Duh for me - I think what is happening is that we are not chewing well enough on the first bites (or on all of them). The food gets stuck and then our stoma gets swollen. That starts a cycle of daily stuck episodes where it continues to keep our stomas swollen and we continue to get stuck. What you really need to do is take a few days of full liquids only (pureed soup, pudding, protein shakes, etc) and drink VERY small sips at a time. AFter a few days, advance slowly up to mushies then to regular food again, but ALWAYS take tiny bites and chew, chew chew. If the food has even one little chunk it can get stuck and start the cycle all over again.

Make your food a little wetter and chew chew chew, if this doesn't work, get to the doctor at once.

I've had swedish lap band for 10 years and you can sabotage the band also; if your 8 months out and not losing weight, it may have slipped -- talk to your doctor. he may take x-rays of fluroscope. I was never able to eat chicken, pasta, rice, and various meats; some things you learn, even if you cut them into small portions. When I was out to dinner, I always asked the waiter to have the meat(s) cut into small biting portions -- and then I tip extra. My band became infected this year, otherwise I maintained my weight loss for 10 years as I said. (Doctor who wasn't as experienced yet in many surgeries and especially repair kept sticking the port to find the area to withdraw or insert fluid; so it became infected and I had to have it removed. Now I've had revision surgery RNY on 5/21/09 and doing well. Always can call your doctor's nurse with any questions and here also.
