Question:
First letter for Approval Sent for VSG

Is there anyone out there that may have UnitedHealthCare with PacifiCare in California and have requested approval for surgery? If so, how long did it take to hear back from them and what if any obstacles did you encounter? I met with the surgeon yesterday and he approved me for the surgery program thru their office; however the battles is going to be with insurance coverage. I have only been with this insurance since January 2009 so I am trying to see how it works and what I should be expecting or not expecting.    — Papoose79 (posted on May 7, 2009)

Most insurance feel tha the VSG is expermintial but I got it thur Anthoum blue cross But I only have one kidney and would need the inteston to digest perscriptions later in life. I'm 6 months post op and down 120 + lbs so it works.
