Question:
Can the resevoir in the lapband break?

My fills are not holding and i do not feel restricted other then the outside of the band.    — Krylee (posted on April 2, 2009)

Wow...I've never heard about a leaking resevoir before...in fact, I didn't know there was any liquid that was supposed to go outside the band, or that they leaked. I had my Realize band put in 8/26/08 and am down 52 pounds with 50 to goal. I'm 62 years old and an active gramma in Oregon. I did have one problem with my band the first week after placement when the port started to move, internally. It was horribly painful, but it stopped hurting, reattached and all's good now. So, tell me more about this leak??? jeri

Just like anything it is a "possibility", but it is VERY rare. They test and retest the band before they place it. How many fills have you had? The average fills is 4-5 before you find restriction. I have had fills and still feel no restriction. Be patient an go slow. I am surprised you actually feel the outside of the band. K
