Question:
No weight loss in 4 weeks
I had my lap band procedure on Jan 30th. My first visit post op February 12th revealed I had loss 12 pounds. As of this date, I have only loss 2 pounds. I am walking outdoors or on the tread mill for 70 minutes 3 days a week, drinking my water, getting my protein in and taking my vitamin supplements. I chew until my jaws are tired and I am making sensible food choices and quantities. I will see the doctor next week for my first fill. Over the last 3 days I am extremely hungry and no longer experience the fullness I use to get. Is this normal? ... PS To make matters worse, I am dying to have a cold diet Pepsi! Hello --- i had the RNY procedure and lost 15 pounds water gain in the
first
few days ... Am one month out yesterday and have not lost one ounce since
that initial loss... And yes am eating the protein -- drinking massive
amounts of fluids --- exercising and nothing but the same weight on the
scale is glaring at me in the morning... Guess some of us just have
stubborn systems... Just don't have that carbonated drink -- try Fuze they
are low low in calories and make the craving for that sweet pepsi much
easier to deal with.

What you're experiencing is TOTALLY normal. You won't really start losing
until you've had a few fills. The amount of fills one needs is individual
and different for everyone. You don't have restriction, only a little
swelling from the surgery, so you're doing this all on your own for now.
It's awesome that you're exercising, drinking your water and taking your
vitamins! You're doing what you need to. Just wait for your fills to get
you really losing! You'll lose, you just have to be patient. Whatever you
do, PLEASE don't drink that Diet Pepsi!!!! The carbonation in it will make
you wish you were dead, and plus, the artificial sweeteners have all kinds
of side effects. They can actually make you feel hungrier! Keep following
your doctor's orders, and you should be fine. Also, try posting over at
the lapband board. That's where I find my strength and inspiration to keep
on keepin' on! Best of luck!

Welcome to my world!!! I have only lost 30 lbs in 8 months. I too go to
the gym and exercise at lest 4 times a week, including water aerobics. I
am surprised that you lost any weight. In fact one month I even gained 3
lbs. I have lost a lot of inches and my friends who have not seen me in
awhile, were shocked to see how slim I look. Just hang in there. I am up
to 8 1/2cc in my band. I may still need another 1/2cc. I am one of those
few that needs more fill to feel full. Good luck and you are still early
in your weight loss so don't panic like I did. Susan

I lost a nice amount of weight initially then I stalled but during the
stall time I continued to lose inches and went down a few sizes in tops and
pants. That seemed to happen quickly. I tried some things weighing 277 on
and no go but two weeks later, at the same weight, they fit! I've lost 20
pounds since then and am stuck again-it's like before surgery-I'd lose
20-25 pounds and get stuck. But I'm dealing with a few other health issues
and I'm hoping that it's just water retention. I've had one fill and know I
need another but I want to wait until my other issues settle down before I
get another one. Even though my surgeon's office is the on doctor's office
I've gotten good news from lately.
