It cost around $25,000. I would ask your doctor how will he charge and you
have to get a price for the hospital bill. Each doctor has his own rate.
Good luck!

I've been told that doctors will only consider doing a revision if you've
gained more than 100 lbs. I would call your surgeon and find out the
correct informaton. They should also be able to answer any other questions
you might have. In the mean time, try the 5 day pouch test. You can find
the link on the main page of OH. Good luck.

I hope I don't sound smug as I want to just be honest with you and not
sugar coat my comment. Well, first of all, it's not your fault or the
fault of the surgery you had, that you gained weight back. You did not
gain all of your weight back either. It took 15 months to put that weight
on so it will take a while to take it off...But you are going to have to
work hard for it. It is possible! Lack of movement has been a problem for
me too...When I am not active (winter) I gain a few pounds...I lose it
again in the spring when I get outside again and off my slippers and heated
blanketed butt! Revisions are not very successful from what I have heard
although I am sure there are some that do well otherwise they wouldn't do
them,...but the complications from a revision are are more frequent too.
Ask your doc! If I were in your situation which I can easily see myself
(without your excuse of an injury) I would get on a lean meal plan and
begin cutting my calories...then get in as much "easy on the bones and
joints" type, exercise as I can...Such as swimming and water
aerobics...It's so theraputic and works every muscle without the stress and
sweat. It might cost you a few hundred to join an indoor pool...but
wouldn't that be far less expensive/risky than another surgery? Eventually
you could work your way back to a healthy leaner body without surgery and
possible revision problems and failure. I'm just telling you what I would
honestly do in your situation...And I WANT to be successful...I wish that
for you too! Good luck in whatever you decide! Be healthy!

Sounds to me like you need to get back to the root of the program (high
protein, low or no carbs, low or no sugar diet) and reduce your caloric
intake. I know first hand that using crutches can be a workout. I'm
assuming the crutches are for a leg injury. Considering I've had 4
surgeries (2 reconstructive, 1 scope, and a total knee replacement) on my
left leg, I know first hand that you can still exercise while on crutches
or walker. It won't be a cardio workout, but you can still do hand
weights, sit-ups, leg lifts, etc. Call it "tough love", but
you're sitting still because you choose to. I went to work the day after
getting out of the hospital from my total knee, and I put in a 40-hour work
week! Get up and get moving! I don't think another surgery is the answer.
Good luck!

Thank s to those of you that were nice in your reply's. I do go to an
indoor swimming spool and also am on weight weighters. I still do my
protein. For the one that was rude in her /his posting I am facing surgery
on both knees, surgery on both rotory cuffs, and limited movement in my
neck and back so as far as you put it, get up and get moving, hopefully you
never have to go thru work comp to get the timely medical help you need.
