Question:
Unclear on what posters on this site mean by " s/p RNY" ?
when refering to how far out they are they say "s/p Rny" Stupid question I know, I'm new to this site and am still learning the lingo, please help by answering!!! — paislieghstar (posted on October 4, 2008)

"S/P" is medical shorthand for the term "status post"
and generally refers to a timeframe, as in "I am 4 month s/p RNY"
(meaning, I had my RNY procedure 4 months ago). And, there are no stupid
questions! ;->

I agree with Julie it means "status post" don't worry I didn't
know either until I entered the medical field.

I never heard of that til now and never even saw it! So even us here for a
while learn new things! DAILY! I usually just say "PO" for post
operative...or pre-op for the obvious...
I think on the boards there is actually a glossary somewhere of
abreviations of terms and board lingo!
