I am 3 years out and my tailbone hurts because after you lose all your
weight you don't have any cushion left on it. So if you sit for long
periods of time you will find that your tailbone will hurt. I have lost
315pounds.

welcome to the world of 'boney butt"!!! I think most of us had/have
this problem. Mine started about 3 weeks post op, and at 4.5 yrs out, it
still bothers the beejeebers out of me. No beautiful round fanny for me,
just flat boney butt, that the legs (even elastic legs) of panties just
hang from- its really quite funny and has given me lots of good laughs. I
still change "buns" when sitting- have to, hurts too much to sit
straight on- i look like i have attention issues when i need to be sitting
quietly, like in church. This too shall pass- maybe.
hope yours does, if not, make it work for you- congrats on your journey.

YESSSSSSSSS!! My tailbone hurts so badly, I ended up having and MRI. The
MRI showed inflamation. I don't know if it is from being overweight so
long or what. I can't sit long, I can't ride in the car long. I end up
standing a lot because of it. Constantly getting up and down, or changing
positions. Odd huh?

Oh boy...If you have a boney butt aready...you won't have nuttin'to sit on
in a year! LOL I'm playing with you! Seriously though...This is
common...I do "butt crushes" EVERY moment I remember and at least
several times a day. I work hard at a maximum gluteus maximous! Sit on
pillows and keep your back in posture as that helps too!

I also am 16 months out and Hvae lost 150 pounds and I have very bad pain
in the tail bone area. I am guessing it is due to no more cushion...LOL

Inflammation ! Best thing for this is a good "liquid" vitamin /
mineral supplement full of lots of anti-inflammatory enzymes ,like VEMMA.

I have a ways to go to get to the boney butt, however, I did see a lady on
tv who had plastic surgery after massive weight loss- had an abdominoplasty
and liposuction and then they flipped her over and injected the fat into
her butt cheeks and did a procedure called a coccyxgectomy. They removed
the very end of her spine, her tailbone called the coccyx. She was unable
to sit to work, to ride a bike or travel. After her recovery, she was
completely relieved of the pain and able to live a normal life again.
If you type in tail bone removal in a search bar on yahoo, you will come up
with a lot of information about this very subject.
Also, if anyone would like my donor fat... there's lots of it and you're
welcome to it!!! LOL!!! (Just kidding, no hate mail please).
Good luck,

I am 5 1/2 weeks out of lap-band surgery and have lost a total of 35 Lbs. I
too have a bony butt. I never had much of a butt even when I was 286 Lbs at
5'8" before surgery. Now I have a lot of trouble riding my motorcycle
and driving, even flying. I just can't sit long. does it get better or do
we have to live with it???
