Hi, congratulations on your surgery!
I too felt bloated and uncomfortable in the beginning. I used GasX strips
that dissolve on your tongue, it really helped me. You'll hear many
different things about using such products but my advice is to move around
often... that also helps the gas out, I would also have my husband sorta
burb me by starting low in my back and moving upward with gentle pounding.
It would help the gas out too. Good Luck, Leslie

Does your stomach feel hard like a rock or is it just problems with gas? If
you have a hard, rock like stomach, you might have a stricture in your
intestines. This could be causing a blockage that keeps food and liquids
from flowing freely through your stomach or pouch and your intestines. If
this is the case you may want to RUN, not walk to your doctor and see if he
can refer you to a specialist who can scope you to see what is going on in
your intestinal tract. Often, just the act of SCOPING the intestinal tract
resolves the issue! The SCOPE often takes the KINK out of the intestine and
resolves the problem. For your sake I hope you find out what the problem is
and resolve it soon.
Best wishes,
Hugh

I had surgery on June 3rd. Felt really bloated and the area below my ribs
was hard and distended. A friend (nurse) who had had the surgery, said to
walk a lot! It worked for me.

Proteins are very heavy in your new pouch. I am 4 wks out and experience
the same thing. It takes me about an hour to drink a 3 oz 42g protein New
Whey bullet because it is so filling. I am on puree foods and if it is a
high protein food it takes so long to finish just a tablespoon of food and
it takes a long time before I feel I can eat again because I am so full and
bloated feeling. Walking is the best medicine. It truly helps to keep
things moving and helps move gas bubbles along. You are supposed to be
full on a lot less, that is the goal. I have not once experienced a hunger
pang since surgery. I can now have water whenever I want with no more
limits of 2 oz per 15 minutes but still my new pouch can't handle more than
a mouthful at a time. However, I can now drink a mouthful every minute or
so instead of every 15. It will get easier just sip all of your waking
hours. Dehydration is horrible and you don't want to go through that!
Good luck and congrats on your new healthier lifestyle.
