this may sound funny but the only thing I pureed was green beens in the
can. I added nothing and when i tried them they tasted so good. It was like
I added butter to them but I didnt. And the funny thing is that when I was
able to start eating solid food again. Green neens made me sick. I can eat
them now but couldnt back then

I pureed turkey in a food processor with some chicken brooth. Top it
with some fat free gravy and you will think your at Thanksgiving. It taste
much better then the turkey baby food.

I never did pureed diet, we were advised to go from liquids to mushy
foods.... egg salad, tuna salad and the like. I guess you could put just
about anything in the food processor. I like recipes from Susan Maria's
book from Bariatric eating.com. She had RNY and has LOTS of recipes in the
back of the book. The puddings and the egg custard are YUMMY! I also like
Snack & Slim pudding... very high in protein, very low in carbs and
good if refrigerated.
Have you purchased any cookbooks? I would highly recommend that for
variety and then you'll know the nutrition information.
Good luck,

I had a scrambled egg with hummus on the side. Yummy! I had my banding on
Monday and I'm a little nervous about trying out food. I also have had
pumpkin soup and small curd cottage cheese and oatmeal. Quaker Oats now
has a weight reduction formula that is very tasty, low sugar and
satisfying.

You will be surprised as to how little pureed you will be able to eat.I
know that I was. I pureed egg salad and tuna salad. Stay away from baby
food. I bought a whole bunch b4 my band and once I tasted it.....gross.I
threw it all away.
i LOVED going to Panera and getting the french onion soup. I dumped in the
cheese they give you and pureed it.It was not the healthiest, but you can
only eat a little bit anyway.
Good luck!

Refried beans w/ chs and LF sour cream is always a fave. Hi in protein.
Black beans are my personal fave. My first wk on mushies, my hubby grilled
steaks. I wanted one so bad, so i put a piece in the food processor. It was
wonderful and went down just fine. But i like my steak cook med. so it's
still pretty pink and juicy. I also picked up some turkey tropical salad
(turykey, pineapple, dried cranberries mayo ) from my stores deli and put
it in the food processor. It was great. And i have always made my chicken
salad in the FP. I just use what ever i have on hand, usually left over
roast ckn, mayo, onion, celery, maybe a little chopped grapes or apple.
Very good, my family always loves ckn salad. Makes a nice presentation
served on a bed of lettuce w/ slice of tomato and a bit of cottage chs.for
the rest of your family. Or on crackers for appetizers for parties etc...
Be creative, and mash up the foods you like, just make sure they are very
moist. I lost 22lbs the first 2-3 wks post-op.

I tried many canned low fat/fat free meats. Just blend with vegetable broth
or meat broth. Low fat/fat free creamed canned soups, mashed potatoes
thinned down with 1 percent milk and add whey protein powders to get
protein intake. Frozen whole fruit, with protein powder lowfat milk , or
sugar free yogurt to make a really good smoothie. 1 frozen banana, with
1tablespoon peanut butter ,a little lowfat milk and protein blend well
,very yummy. Cream of wheat, or cream of rice warm with a little sugar free
syrup. Hope some of these ideas will help.
