Hi Amie - first, congratulations on your surgery! Unfortunately there is
nothing on your site indicating what kind of surgery you had, but in
general at first you may have even seemed to have gained weight from the IV
fluids you got during surgery. Do you see a nutritionist? You should be
seeing one soon in your post-op period, and I would suggest keeping an
intake diary to bring into her visit. She can also help you with
appropriate food choices at this stage of you weight loss. Good luck!

Hi Amy...No one can answer your question with zero info...You just had
surgery of some type and you might not be doing anything wrong. Some people
take a little to get going and then lose a little slower than others...That
may just be how it works out for you...But it's only four weeks...wait a
year and by then you'll certainly see a huge difference. It seems slow at
first...but you'll be surprized how fast a year really does go and those
5-6 pounds add up sweetie...Give it time...Good luck

Amie, I looked up your doctor and he does only Lap Band or that is what his
site says. Are you still eating Low Fat diet? I only lost 12 pounds in two
weeks and today I am up a pound and I was fretting over that.. I know I
will have my first fill May 28th and I know I can eat a little more but I
try not to. Also, are you walking? The surgeon's nurse told me that it
could be me walking and firming up my muscles and muscles weigh more than
fat. Talk to your doctor about it. Maybe they have suggestions.

Hi annie,
Repost you question with more details like the type of surgery, what your
weight and BMI was. I don't know much about Lap Band, but I know they
don't lose much until their first fill. RNY, can be hospital fluids or
just a plataue caused by your dieting before surgery. Tell us if you did
and for how long and what you took off prior to surgery.
Best of success to you.

Hi, I am 3 weeks post-op lap-band and have lost about 10 pounds, but one
day I got on the scale and had actually GAINED a couple pounds, but then it
went down again. I would say going by a desired loss of 1-2 pounds per
week, you are pretty much on track.
I saw a morning tv show and one of the features was people who had lost a
dramatic amount of weight. One lady told a story about being disappointed
over losing only 5 pounds, and her support person told her "Go to the
grocery store and pick up a 5 pound sack of potatoes...it feels heavy,
doesn't it? That's how much less weight you are carrying around."
Kind of puts things into perspective. Also on a personal note, I'm not
healed enough (having killer port pain) to really work out so I'm a little
impatient too :)
